After spending six years in the mutual fund industry, Greg entered public accounting in a small, full-service CPA firm where he gained valuable experience preparing tax returns, conducting financial statement audits, and appraising privately held companies. While reviewing a client’s financial statements, Greg found a fictitious employee scheme, launching his forensic accounting career which has been the focus of his practice since 2008.
Greg joined Harper Hofer & Associates in 2010 and manages the Firms’ economic damages and ESOP services practices. Greg routinely opines on matters involving lost profits, lost earnings, lost business value, fraud, alter ego claims, and professional standards of care. Greg has testified in federal and state courts throughout the United States, as well as at arbitrations and administrative hearings.
Greg is a Certified Public Accountant (Colorado), Certified in Financial Forensics, and a Certified Valuation Analyst. He is a founding board member of the Rocky Mountain Employee Ownership Center (RMEOC) and has presented at conferences and events sponsored by the AICPA, NACVA, the National Association for Employee Ownership, National Institute for Trial Advocacy, the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Colorado BAR Association, the Front Range Business Valuation Group, the RMEOC, and several law firms.
When not working, Greg can be found spending time with his horses or in the mountains skiing and hiking.
