CPA, MBA
Eric’s career in public accounting began in 2006. After 17 years in the industry, he joined the tax group at Harper Hofer & Associates in November 2023. His objective is to be a trusted advisor to his clients and his focuses include structuring for tax efficiency, proactive planning to take advantage of opportunities when they exist, and avoiding surprises. He excels at working with business clients that are experiencing difficulties with their financial statements and accounting systems, multi-state taxation, and generally tailoring solutions to each client’s unique situation.
In addition to his CPA license, Eric earned an MBA from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and he always tries to take the full picture into view when advising business clients. His belief is that when his clients are successful, he is successful. Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships is the most fulfilling aspect of what he does.
His volunteer activities include serving as a member of the finance committee of Tessa, a domestic violence shelter based in Colorado Springs, serving as treasurer for his kids’ high school band booster organization, mentoring high school students coming from a difficult home situation through a non-profit called Peak Education, and finance responsibilities within his church community.
Most of Eric’s free time consists of trying to keep up with family and kid activities, but he also enjoys reading, performing in choirs, science and technology, staying up to date on current events, and always striving to be a life-long learner.
